The R129 body Mercedes SL is widely acknowledged as the pinnacle of Mercedes engineering. Since its launch in 1989 many improvements were made with both cosmetic and mechanical updates keeping the car as the leader in its class. This 1999 model is one of the last incarnations of the model with improvements to body styling, interior appointments and mechanical upgrades. The SL500 has over 300 BHP on tap, driven through the smooth 5 speed electronically controlled automatic gearbox.
This exceptional example was supplied new by Bradshaw Webb in July 2000 to its first owner. He retained ownership until 2005 when its second and most recent owner purchased the car. The condition of this SL really is a credit to him. Always garaged and perfectly maintained it is more in keeping with a 3 year old car. The interior is free of damage, the leather is still soft and supple, the carpets are like new and the wood trim has no cracks or scratches.
